Still Alive

Yep I'm still alive, but man has it been a long time since I posted something on this blog. Well here it is. Just having some fun with some photoshop brushes. I'm going to start getting back into this blog posting thing again, since I now finished with school FINALLY!!!I am going to do more digital stuff for an updated portfolio that I plan to have done before the end of the year. Lawyer's Wet Suit Logo

Here is a new logo I did for a lawyer firm. They have a rowing team called the "Warriors" and they asked if I could make them a logo for their wet suit of a viking woman with a man blind folded back to back with her.

Comic-Con 2009 +TV Show

So I have been reading a lot lately about the recent San Diego Comic-Con and what they were showing there, wicked cool stuff. Below are a couple of quick comps I did of the movies that I am looking forward to seeing this year and next. I also can't wait for season 3 of Mad Men to start, it starts on Aug.15th.

Gestures + New App

Here are a couple of gestures I did. The first one is done traditionally, the other three I was playing around with an application for the IPod Touch/IPhone called "Brushes". If anyone has an ipod or iphone the program goes for $4.99 and is definitely worth all the money. It is a bit tedious at first to get used to as you are drawing on a small screen with your finger, but once you get the hang of it your good to go.

So I've been struggling with some of my gesture sketches, trying to get a hang of the whole Nicholaides way of gesturing. Well I think I had a revelation a couple of days ago, I combined his way with the way Glenn Vilppu does his gesture drawings, along with the way you do blind contour drawing and here are the results! Also at the end is another random caricature.

Kick A$$ Flash Animation Part II

Here we have a mixture of stuff. Ok, first we have some drawings done by my 10 year old brother which I must say are pretty awesome for his age, he's definitely getting there, keep it up Bro! Here is a character I created last winter, while building my portfolio. I have decided that I will be using the character in my final 3rd year at my animation school. I briefly have a story that I would like to do that revolves around him saving some people from an atomic bomb ready to go off in their town, and based in the 1950's. I will be also revising this character alot more, this was just the initial design and a quick turnaround. More updates about this character and his story to come in the near future.

Has anyone else been distraught about the time change lately? I have been out of wack this whole week with my drawing, and finally today I am feeling like normal again! Alright I have finally decided to get my act straight with this blog thing. I have redone and renamed my blog, but it is still under some construction. I have to add in things like my own banner and jazz up the footer a bit as well. I will be posting here regularly or daily sometimes, depends all on my schedule. This blog is going to be mostly digital sketches and rough digital paintings, along with some here and there traditional stuff. I am going ahead with this blog as a great learning tool to keep up my digital drawing techniques. I hope it helps :)
